    What Size ESC?

    Howdy everyone
Could someone tell me what size esc I would need for a Turnigy B36-56-04 2600kv Inrunner Motor?
will be running 4S Lipo's (or maybe 5S later on)
dont plan on constantly upgrading and achieving crazy speeds like BlackCat
Thanks for everyones post's, I have been reading and learning for several months and am finally getting close to start building this boat! ESC is the last major part to get!

I assume THIS is the motor you are talking about correct? If so HK suggest a 60esc, but a Turnigy or Seaking 120 would be a good fit (they are the same esc). The seaking is version 1 pictured, but I just ordered one and the sent v2. I wouldn't recommend 5s on that and be conservative on prop selection.

Thanks and Yes thats the right motor. I didnt know if 60A was the minimum size to get or if that would be plenty, but it just seemed like I should get a bigger one. was thinking a 90A would be enough, is there any reason you skipped over the 90A and went from 60A to 120A?
Thanks for the help, trying to get most of the parts before I put everything together.

Only reason I said 120 is because if you ever want to get a different set up or use in a different boat you have a esc that can a lot more range of motors and only for $15 more than the 90 amp esc/programmer package.

This is what I ordered and was a Great value. This is the v2 esc. http://www.hobbyhot.com/hobbywing-se...1-pr-1890.html

WOW, that's a lot of work. Their is information here that will help you with that, I wanted to do a twin on mine and started adding numbers and times and dumped the idea. Good luck though, blog your build in the bulding section of this forum and people will gladly help you.

I have been reading these threads for several months and have learned alot, and will continue to read and learn. Finally got fed up with staring at a bare hull and have started to buy the parts here and there as I could afford to. almost have everything I need now. still need flex shafts, and props and a servo mount. copied blackcats SV Stingers use. But... I keep having this feeling that I have bitten off more than I can chew, with no boat experience and building a twin, sounds like a recipe for disaster to me! but on the good side, I already have a kayak that will make a good recovery vehicle. and at 5'6" it fits inside my suv too!
Thanks for your help and Im sure I will need it again soon!!!
first job will be to glass in the last step and transom, and probably stiffen the inside hull some ( See I have learned some things already )doing it right is another matter)
and I will be taking lots of pics to put on here as I go along, mostly to show screw-ups and asking for help no doubt. and when Im done....I'll probably be too scared to try it out, and end up selling it on ebay. ahhhh just kidding....I hope
