    Leaning BlackJack

Just got my BJ26 yesterday. Got it used but basically brand new condition from RCGroups. Running 100% stock for now on 4s Turnigy 5000mah 20C batts (2 X 2s).

I notice that on moderate to full throttle runs, the boat leans pretty good to the right. I am guessing that trim tabs would fix this but I don't want to add them. I have already removed the turn fins. I do plan on going with the Fulllers hardware eventually, but was wondering if there was a quick fix to offset what I am guessing is the prop torque?

Boat runs great, very fast, and I am adding a third battery plug between the existing two so I can run 6s if I want to. Plan on removing the batt trays, radio 'box', and running two 2s in the hull sides all the way to the rear and a third 2s laterally across the hull in front of the motor.

Here is a vid of my first run out with the boat. Actually, this is my second, the first lasted about 90 seconds until the boat got slightly airborne over it's wake and snapped a prop blade clean off when it came back down.... luckily I had some proboat 1.6" props from another project I was working on.

Basically, is there anything quick I could do to level out the boat for now? I was thinking once the batt trays are removed that maybe I could run the right side cell further back than the left side one which might help trim the boat out on plane? Would that work?

I was rummaging through a box of boat crap at a hobby store and I found a set of Kyosho combination trim tabs and turn fins that look like they will work well, the turn fin length is just about exactly what my trimmed stock ones are, and I am thinking I can add a little down trim tab (just a touch) on one side to help level the boat out. Might also help get it turning better also since right now it turns one direction better than the other.

I'll post pics when / if I mount them up.

Unless your turning left I wouldn't worry about it too much, I've purposely run all my cells in the right sponson as a temporary crutch to improve the right turning of cats that were too narrow or had too small rudders for running ovals, it looks funny when at rest canted over to one side and flies a little strangely over waves but it keeps the right sponson down in turns and can improve lap times until you can fix the underling problem.
