    Servicing motor

Is there any way to open up the stock BJ26 motor? I bought a new one today from LHS for my dual build. When I spin the shaft on the new one, it actually keeps spinning for a few rotations on it's own. My used one is tight to spin. I'm assuming the bearings on it need replacing. Any input?

The stock bj motor should have some resistance when turned by hand. If it turns freely like you stated the magnets are shot. If it's a different motor, thats a whole different ballgame. Motors (like Feigao and Turnigy and others) where the windings are compressed in the can instead of wrapped around a stator will exhibit this free spinning behavior. The motors like the blackjack you are actually fighting the magnets force when you turn the shaft by hand. Oh, back to your original question....Yes you can open the factory motor. The front endbell is threaded and the back is pressed in. If it is in fact a stock BJ motor it's probably done. I don't think anybody sells the rotor that needs replacing.

it doesn't spin freely, it still does the cogging feeling as you spin it. Just when you spin it hard, it will spin 1-2 revs. The used one it pretty hard to turn at all.

I will open it up, and have a look
