    Where do I start?

    Hello everyone
I am a newbie boat person and have just bought a BJ26 bare hull from ebay. I have many questions ( and thats after reading 18 pages back of this forum)
Im not looking for an all out speedster,(Just something fast that wont catch on fire) It appears that I dont need to buy a radio box and all that since many of you are taking them out. I know I want Lipo's and brushless motor, and it looks like fuller hardware is the prefered choice for rudder and stuff.
I cant afford to buy everything at once so this build will take awhile, Just wondering where to start? I must admit I really like the twin motor setups I've seen on this forum!, and am leaning that way, am I biting off more than I can chew? can I save some money and buy less powerful motors for now but buy a bigger ESC(S) like 90amp or more? then later on will only need to switch out the motors?. Can I use smaller lipos to make it slower for 1st timers that might get to play with it, and then use bigger packs to make it faster, or would it just be easier to program radio to a lower power setting?
Sorry for all these questions, told myself to keep it short, but knew that wouldnt happen. I will keep reading and learning as much as I can. and the more I look at all the brushless motors and their specs the more confused I get!!
is there a website called brushless for dummies? I know there are so many different variables and am not smart enought to ask a dumb question right now.
    Twin motors or Single?
I have a traxxas Radio (Not 2.4Ghz)and an extra traxxas waterproof steering servo from my Summit. I was hoping to use unless I hear otherwise.
Thanks in advance, this looks like a site full of information and knowledgeable people!
am looking forward to learning from everyone
    Sorry for the long thread

To begin, take a deep breath........OK, now I would recommend to start off with a single motor learn the boat a little and later if you want, go for the twin. Use 2.4ghz the radio they are good im my experience. There are a million choices to choose from on these boats and sometimes can be overwhelming. Any more questions you have just ask away, we are here to help and learn.

Thanks for the advice! and I agree even though I want to twin! after looking into it I think your right, I would rather wait til I learn more and hopefully avoid wasting my money on two of everything. and staying with the single will let me get on the water sooner. So for now I will continue to read every post on here and learn as much as I can!

I was planning on it but thought I would use an extra TQ2 for awhile and save money for everything else. Now Im completely 2.4Ghz! Blade 400, Traxxas Summit, and now the BJ26. still too dumb to know what parts to get for everything else anyway might as well start with one I know I wont waste money on. Now I can look at radio and bare hull, yippee. I have removed the battery trays. and it looks faster already. HA HA!
