    Stops only when full power?
Do you have to arm your ESC after that?

what batteries are you using? If nimh, odds are you are drawing more amps when you punch it than your packs can provide. Voltage drop results in low voltage cutoff.

If running nimh packs, get the programming card and run it with low cutoff. Unless your packs are totally worthless, then nothing will help.

Same thing happened to me when I was running nimi pack, try charging them with a slow low amp charge and see what happens, I eventually melted mine and waited till I could get lipos, it's a whole new world in speed and challenges.

yes when full power it zips for a slipt second then stops then i have to let off and push back down. not sure if that re sets it or not.

i am using the pro boat 4200nimh batterys i know they are the wimpy ones but they are all i could get at the time. i want to upgrade i just don't know if i want to go with lipos because of all the hassles i hear about them.

your batteries are your problem. You can try using your current packs, just get the programming card, and reprogram the ESC for "LOW CUTOFF"

Lipos have come a long way. The hassles you hear about usually come from the guys who abuse the snot out of them, or don't use the proper gear for charging them.

Your prop should fit with no issues to the stock setup. Keep in mind the stock steerable outdrive will fail eventually. You'll find people change the running hardware. Make sure you don't use a raw prop, you gotta sharpen and balance it to get the best perfomance out of it.

Battery wise, the turnigy packs on hobbyking are by far your best bang for the buck. It will let you save some money on the packs, so you can spend it on a good quality charger. Personally, I use the hyperion DUO charger. Many fail safes built into it, and it works really well.

These are great for the money, and have lots of punch for when you upgrade in the future.

do those batterys have a hard case?

and what outdrive did u go with? can you send me a link for that as well to please?

and the link for the charger? does it have a balancer also?

They do not have a hard case. These ones do, and are a good price.

I did a custom dual rudder on mine. But a lot have gone with fullers and the one below.....
                      http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...prod=ose-80085

Both are inline, as opposed to offset, and both require that you drill new mounting holes, and fill the old ones with epoxy.

The hyperion charger is also available on OSE

Very powerful duo charger with a lot of features. Has integrated balancers. You will need to purchase balancing boards that match the balance taps on the pack, and an external power supply such as the one below.

There is also an AC/DC version, but it will only do 1 pack at a time.

The duo charger is not cheap by any means, but with the options/features/safety checks, I like mine. Also, if in the future you go with some monster 6s packs, the hyperion duo will easily handle it.

Battery Type = Ni-MH or Li-Po (obviously depends)
                            Cutoff Voltage = LOW
                            Cutoff Type = Slow Down
BRAKE = OFF (who needs brakes on a boat??? )
                            Timing = HIGH
                            Throttle Curve = LINEAR

If you batteries are crap, then you are likely dipping below the cutoff voltage on the ESC.

Also, the ProBoat ESC has a "no load" function where, when it senses the boat is not under any load (like when you jump it out of the water, or try to dry-run it on the bench), it'll shut down the throttle. This is a protection feature to keep you from burning up your equipment on the bench or when the prop is otherwise out of the water. It's pretty sensitive, so if you have a VERY free driveline, it'll cutout right away on the bench.
