Well [I] got it figured out got the boat on the water. Wow its fast.the only batts I had for test were 3s 11.2 volt so short runs were all I did but really fast.

i did my first run today also. ran 2 7cell venom 4200 nimh batteries. i first did some of the recomended mods. batttery trays gone replaced by 2 x 1/8" aluminum strips lower in the hull and velcro applied. strut/rudder combo replaced with one of better design. cnc aluminum. and a x442 prop. im not ready to try it with my 3s 5000mah batteries yet. i didnt end up using the stock radio, went with my airtronics 2.4ghz radio instead, has a built in cutoff feature that i like plus its impervious to stray rx signals.
all in all i was impressed with the speed i got also, taking into consideration that i was running the nimh cells and not the lipos i wasnt dissapointed. tracked pretty well with the batteries moved back to about an inch from the transom, an inch farther forward and it seems to get allot more bounce off wakes. i did flip it over on the first run. was going into the sun, couldnt really tell if it just hooked too hard in a turn or hit a wake bad, sun was refecting in my eyes and my grandson was trying to ask me something or other for the 100th time. and my camera man ( grandsons dad) missed getting it on tape. so nothing for the blooper reel just yet. glad the hatch was taped, barely any water got into the boat. managed to drive it into shore like some kind of wannabe air boat, prop moves enough air to pass over the rudder and is movable and steerable with just airflow. good to know. second run i moved the batteries back a tad, took a little slower into turns and it drove nice and smooth on plane at wot, tends to fall off plane fast though. i got a driveby look a couple times to make shure water was pissing out the side port like it should.
think i might do some mods on the turn fins, as it might be they caused the flip.

cool, i painted a old 48" deep v gas/mono, used epoxy automotive paint on it, i mean it looked great. just think i had more$$ in paint than i had fiberglass. not wanting to go that route again.

i am, i think theres several posters who have run 3s lipo with no issues, its probubly got a little headroom on its voltage rating. ive seen other brushless controllers that when they get north of an 18v rating they seem to handle 6s of lipo no problem. but that said i think we all realise the warrenty isnt going to cover it.. if mine dies due to running 2 3s lipos in it ill use that as an excuse to upgrade.
