    BlackJack 26 Brushless Hardware Replacement

    Hi,
I am relatively new boat owner, and have a question about replacing the strut and rudder on the Proboat Blackjack 26. I just ordered the "cat strut and rudder system" from OSE.com, but am not sure if I need to purchase anything else to support the new hardware.

    http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...prod=ose-80085

    1) Can I use the stock pushrod to control the new rudder? If not what do I need to get to control the above OSE rudder?
    2) It appears some additional holes need to be drilled and existing holes filled in to attach the strut, correct?
    3) Are there any instructions online that describe the steps needed to change out the strut and rudder on a blackjack? (I searched the forum, and could not find anything comprehensive)

    Thanks for the help.

    Hi
    1. Epoxy and fiberglass your transom from inside, cover all the original holes unless you like to use some of them if spacing of new rudder mount will fit them
    2. Drill new holes to fit new hardware, waterproof after installation ( marine silicone and check for leaks in your bathtub )
    3. If the pushrod is the right lenght, use it, why not? If it is not in line you can curve the rod the way you like to fit priperly....
    4. Browse OSE Black Jack posts well for pictures of other people using the same hardware ( ask DOBY for few simple shots, he has the same hardware on his BJ )
    5. When ready make sure to post picturs so we can look and give you more suggestions....
    6. Have a fun. BJ-26 is wicked!!!!!
