    My Blackjack with twin power

When I first saw the Backjack 26 I new it had to have it as my first R/C boat (I have plades, Cars and Heli's), and that it was begging to have twins. I joined this Forum and thanks to Mudl's experimenting, I did it right the first time and on a budjet:
    Bare hull used $35
    2 Turnigy B36-56-04 motors $59
2 Stinger drives Rt & Lft rotation $68
    2.4 ghz wheel radio $55
    2 Motor mounts $10
    2 80 amp Speed Controllers $110
    Lightweight Rudder assembly $29
    2 Cooling jackets $18
    High torque digital Servo $7.50
    2 5mm to 4mm colletts $16
    Misc fittings, hose etc $30
    2 11.1v 3000mah 35C lipo's $50
    2 Octura X642 R&L Props $46
    Used Garmin 201 $36
    Total $569.50
Hope to run it soon, but our Lake is icing up fast. May have to run down to Lake Powell and run it off my Houseboat. I will probably end up running 14.8v's Here are some pictures

      My Blackjack 26 Twin

I need to run it so I can verify that setup is OK, then I will paint it. Yeh I know screws aren't in the lower holes on Stingers. Here are a few more Pics.

Put some space in those drivedogs and stingers.

Should boogie. Hope 80 amp ESCs hold up to the task.

You did a great job...now get down there and run it...who cares if it is a full day trip!

Is the cooling from under the hull? Or just not there yet.

Does a drag pickup produce more or less volume than a prop wash pickup?

Sweet setup, but where did you find everything at those prices.

The water pickups under the hull should produce less drag because they dont protrude. I'm more familiar with aerodynamics than hydrodynamics, but usually the same properties hold true for both. As far as the prices---Ebay, OSE Store and Hobbyking. I was in no hurry and bid on multiple items, multiple times untill I got the price I wanted to pay. As far as the Hull was concerned, I got it on Ebay. It seems that there are alot of people that fry their ESC's and sometimes their Boats by running more voltage than their Speed controller can handle. My Hull Had the ESC fried, Servo, Motor and some of the wood, all of which I was removing anyway.

How much space is needed between the drivedog and Stinger? I have about .015-.020 clearance as well as the teflon washers. Isn't that enough?
As far as the Lake trip....other than the local Lake (about 10 minutes away), that is quickly freezing, my houseboat at Lake Powell is 5 1/2 hours away, so it's not just a day trip.
Just a funny side note. My brother ran his King Of Shaves last week on our local lake and saw some floating ice. He still ran, and somehow his boat just dissappeared. He thought he may have hit the ice. Anyway, after about 5 or so seconds and him having written the boat off, It came back to the surface! It was intact, had very little water in it, and he actually drove it in!
