Ive had a couple of issues with my boat but it was running fine so took it out today and it ran well but when i took it out of the water i could smell what can only be explained as electrical burning, and its the esc. Some of the plastic coating has come off one of the resistors but the boat was working fine, so i dont know if i should just get rid of that esc and get a better one or try running it againg but i think i run the risk of setting the thing on fire! i was going to upgrade to lipos in the next few weeks so can anyone reccomend a replacement esc for the boat or should i just get another proboat one as i have the programme card on order? I dont want to spend silly money as i dont race and the rest of my setup is stock apart from an octura x624 but i have the bj26 ss harware on order
Damn boat, now my esc has melted!!!

I thought about that but living in the uk it's a nightmare sending the origional back and also I got rid of the on/off switch on the esc so they probably wouldn't take it back.Comment

I'm not sure what it is, it's one or the black coated parts that stick out the top of the escLast edited by jamespl; 11-27-2009, 12:19 PM.Comment

They will take it back. You need to sent ESC only and the swich should not be a problem. You can sent them e-mail first with details and they will respond...DJI Drone Advanced Pilot
