I found a guy (www.topsecretboats.com) (Billy Garrett) that will setup to CNC machine and duplicate the UL1 rudder specs with dual water pickups in the next few weeks. Thanks for your advice nutz1207, I have tried that setup also, very difficult to find the right pickup versus shaving off speed. I can't wait to try the modified rudders with ample water pickup and as little drag as anticipated with them. One of the UL1's will sport the Nue 1515Y with Castle 240 and another will harness the Fieago 7XL with Etti 150.....Props to be tested later......Norm

Hi All.
Finally got to run the boat last weekend. Water flooowed niceProblrem was restriction at the transom as I mentioned on post #6. Thanks to all who threw in ideas. They were all useful and will all be useful down the road I’m sure
But… a minute or two into the run the collet came loose
Grabbed the fishing pole and I did not have enough line. By the time I got to the boat in an inflatable, transom was already submerged
Gutted the boat again and pushed the hull down into some tub water. Water come in from antenna hole, rudder pushrod boot and a cracked rubber seal on the transom water bailer. (but not from stuffing tube that I expected)
Anyway, time for a new topic.. Waterproof a lipo pack??? It will be nice to get some imput on this tooComment

Only waterproof lipos are ones that are in a dry boat. That is the best advice i've been given, and it's true. Make your hull dry, period.
Any less than 100% perfect attempt at 'waterproofing' a lipo will only keep moisture inside the shrink wrap and more likely to wreak havoc. Also, you don't want to disguise signs of puffing cells, etc., that are important to notice.
