new flex shaft installation issues

well after abusing my blackjack on 6s for so long my flex shaft is finally worn to the point that it just spins inside the collet , even when tightened to the max.

i bought an octura flex shaft which is considerably longer which is required anyways to install the fullers hardware.

i decided to replace the motor collet with a new one from pro boat as well as the screw set which holds the flex shaft to the prop shaft just in front of the rudder.

my problem is i cant figure out how the flex shaft gets secured to the screw set . i tried to take out the old flex shaft from the screw set and i couldnt budge it.

is this thing welded in there or what? what is holding the flex shaft inside this metal collet?

any help guy would be very appreciated.

i think u might have melted some metal inside of it try a hair dryer and pliers heat will expand it

ive got a new flex shaft and screw set with the metal collet but what im trying to figure out is how the new flex shaft stays inside this collet.

like i said i couldnt figure out how the old one even stayed in there . i sent an email to proboat asking them about this and of course i never heard back from them other than the automated response. ( im not suprised by this either . lol)
