Did anyone has issues with flex shaft broken in this expensive boat just after three runs. This happens to me.I got first few 4-5 minute runs perfect on 3 different days.On my fourth outing at the end of my run it suddenly lost power.I was lucky that the boat was near the edge of water so I picked it up and noted no prop.I thought I lost my flex shaft and prop on reverse.Any way I ordered the parts and got them in time.Last evening when I try to put the flex shaft in the stub,it did not move beyond an inch and a half.It was hitting a rock.I am very new in RC boats so did not know what to do.Got a shout out on a boat forum, tried out their suggestions but no result.Than I thought could it be a posdibility that flex shaft has broken and is still inside the golden stub.I start disassembling and got the stub out and guess what I was correct.Flex shaft broken and with it prop got in the water but remaining part was still inside the stub and was not letting the new flex shaft in.I removed the broken shaft and replaced the new greased shaft with prop.Reassemble the parts.Project went well without much problem. Now this evening when I will get to water than will know job done well or not.Any comments why this happened in a brand new boat and anyone else has this happened to them.

Stock flex cables are not known to be very good quality and many boats have had failures like these in the past. Be sure to leave a gap between the drive dog and the end of the strut so when the cable shrinks under load, it doesn't bind up and cause friction.Vac-U-Tug Jr (13mph) -
It is on back order at offshore electronics.I have another question about right and left turn of Sonicwake 36 boat.It is more turn on one side like normal but minimal on the opposite side.Is this a design fault or something else. How can I can get it better.Comment

Thanks fweasel.Another question I have is about Teflon liner which came with flex shaft I ordered.Do I have to grease the shaft and than put on Teflon liner on it and push it in to the stub. When I removed the broken flex shaft there was no Teflon liner on it.Is it still inside the stub and do I have to remove it and put the new Teflon liner which is like a plastic tube.I am very new in RC boats so pardon me.Comment

They do come with teflon liners from the factory, they can be a pain to replace. just put you new flex cable in with the existing teflon it should be fine. Grease the new flex shaft and if it slides in smoothly you are good. Leave about a 2mm gap at the back of the drive dog and tighten the collet. After any session when you get home pull the flex shaft out and wipe it off good regrease and tighten, do not skip this!
How is it turning? My SW2 can with the turn fins way high and would not turn worth a darn. I am a cat guy this was my 1st V hull.
There are some many Youtube vids on this boat worth watching IroncladRC ones are great.
Once I got the trim taps and turn fins setup I am running at 55 with all stock.Comment
