Upgrade from a stealthwake

I'm looking to get a bigger boat. I currently have a stealthwake and want something a little bigger. I'm debating between the zelos36 and the voracity. The pond I run in is 110' x 450' and does get a slight chop. Any pros and cons of each would be appreciated. Thank you

From a simplicity standpoint (if you are a relatively new boater) that the Voracity would be better suited to you as a single motor. It's plenty capable of really good speed stock and modified.

I own both of those boats. The Voracity likes to run on just the last bit of hull and is more prone to flip, despite it running really fast. It has a really shallow V bottom so it doesn't cut through the chop like you might immediately assume a V-bottom mono would. I find the Zelos easier to run in a more conservative setup with more hull in the water and as a result, more stable. I'm sure if I propped down on the Vracity, it would be more tame, but where's the fun in that?

Tameless is right, the single motor setup on the Voracity is cheaper to run, maintain, and upgrade. Can't say you'll have a bad time with either boat. I like them both for different reasons.

It's all relative honestly. If you're not running these boats, or any boat for that matter, at the bleeding edge of stability, you'll do fine in light chop. In stock trim, both boats will handle light chop just fine and will be reliable runners. How quickly you get bored with out of the box performance and decide you need more is the better question. Some of us have about a single stock run in us before that point is reached. Others have no interest in doing any modifications other than those that increase reliability.

Good to know. Upgrades would be nice but with my limited pond size speed isn't a concern unfortunately. I'm waiting to buy since they are teasing us with this new boat coming out. Lol

Have you thought about a nice used boat? Lots of opportunities to find a really well upgraded boat for decent money around here and other forums.

I kind of want to stick with new. Warranties are nice lol. Looks like that pursuit is sold.

Cant really go wrong with the Zelos36. Plenty power out of the box and will stun onlookers. Ive run Vs and Cats and can say Cats are more predictable because they have a wider stance. The Zelos has been proven (although not easy) over 90mph. Small pond might get sketchy but it corners well and scoots out of the hole. I recommend running 4 3s packs for 6s2p.

I too own both the Voracity and the Zelos. The Voracity would be better suited for a smaller pond. The Zelos really needs space to stretch her legs. I would consider a Kintec Pursuit as well. Good size, already upgraded and hauls the mail!

I may end up going with the miss geico. Since it's only one set of electronics to deal with and I could buy a few batteries with the the extra $270.

You can run the V3 29" proboat cats on 4S with stock electronics and do about 40mph with a sharpened x642 prop or all the way up to 60mph on an x440/3 prop and 6S with reduced timing on the ESC. Fun boat and handles well.
