Thanks - I thought that i remembered that from the distant past (US Army Electronics 50 + years ago)
I called Horizon again and got a guy in Illinois who admitted he was NOT a boat guy but promised to have the
right guy from California call me back saying he would follow up on it to make it happen - Nothing yet!
I finally got thru to the right guy at Horizon and to make a long story short they are sending two new ESC's and want mine to be sent
back to them. They want to send them to the manufacturer . I just wanted to say that they did deliver - it just took a little while.
I hope this fixes the problem
Mike, your ESCs are coming back to me. I will be trouble shooting them and if necessary sending them back to the factory, since we have never seen this before. I find it odd that both ESCs are arming without a cell count, with a green LED status light.
I believe Bill asked for you to return the power harness as well, but I actually need your receiver harness (servo Y adapter), not the power harness. I want to test the ESCs as you are using them.
Looking forward to getting you back out on the water.

Rafael - Thank you for the help. So from what you say above I should keep the power harness and then will be sending back to you whatever pieces you have sent to me?
I am not sure what you mean by the servo Y adapter unless it is that brown plug wrapped up next to the servo. By the way I wanted to mention that this
boat has never been flooded or sunk. It has always been very dry - sometimes a few drops up the stuffing tube.
The adapter I'm referring to is what allows both ESCs to plug in to the single throttle port in the receiver. Just unbolt the ESCs from the tray, unplug the wire from the receivers throttle port, and send it in. We don't need your power/battery adapter.
Okay - got it - am waiting to receive items from you folks before I pull the stuff out. It is still giving me two tones and two green lights.
on each ESC - one short and one longer tone. I ran it this AM using Octura 447 props balanced and sharpened - it seemed to go
OK but I left my GPS at home. Struts are in neutral position -
Mike, please stop running the boat with those ESCs. If the ESCs stop working it will be impossible for us to figure out what the issue is. Sorry for the inconvenience, but the parts have been mailed you. We decided to send you replacement ESCs based on knowing we'd get yours back while they're still operable.
Rafael - That was the last time I ran the boat and they are still doing the exact same thing we have discussed. I just this minute received the two ESC's you sent but if I am not mistaken you said you wanted the adapter which
was NOT included in the box. Do you want me to wait till I receive that part or shall I send them without it? Wait a minute - I just went rooting around and found a Futaba J - Series Dual SX (W) Ext Cord that I bought years ago
for one of my planes. With some sanding (rcvr end) I believe it will do the job. It is too long though and I would appreciate you sending me the correct part.
I was also told on the phone I would be getting a FedEx label for shipment to you guys - that has not shown up yet either - please let me know what you want me to do. I just hooked up the batteries and radio for a final test.
All is still the same. ( two tones - first is short the second is longer.) with two green lights.
After starting to remove the original ESC set I find that the above mentioned Futaba adapter will NOT work in this case so if you want this one i will need a replacement from you first. I am putting the boat aside for now
and will go no further till I hear from you. Please advise.
Friday -
What I have done is hook up the new ESC's to the original servo Y adapter and bingo I get the six count with 6S hooked up just like it is supposed to do. It would appear that the problem is in one of the ESC units. Just before doing this
I tested one last time with the original setup and still got only the two tones. I have tested the new units several times and they have worked flawlessly. I still dont know where to ship the original units - Calif/Illinois ?

Reason: additional info added
I searched esc blinking and flashing red lights, read through a few threads, looked in manual too but still can't figure this out.
All stock boat, qty 4- 3s batts harnessed together, 6s per motor.
I've run this boat 7-8 times with no issues besides a tiny amount of water(4-5 drops) after a 4 minute run.
Today I went out and on full throttle pass, it stuttered, then stopped. After a second, I drove it back in.
Opened the hatch and both ESCs were blinking red lights???
Held both power buttons and turned all off.
Checked all batt connections and looked good.
Held both power buttons and turned all on
Beeps and then both ESCs solid green
Went back out and exact thing happened.
All 4 batts had voltage in the 4.05-4.10 range
Any ideas? Am I missing something obvious?
Thanks in advance for the help, love this yellow boat!
Mine was doing that after 2-3 passes but only 1 esc was flashing red. This was with 2 3s batteries series 6s total its only happend a few times I thought maybe it was overheating but it wasn't very hot. I have low voltage alarms on my batteries and they didn't go off so I'm not sure what it was. No explanation about flashing red esc in the manual?
Pistol, what's your LVC set at? I had raised mine from the stock 3.2V setting to a more conservative 3.4V and would get one motor/ESC bogging down after only a few WOT passes on fresh 2x 3S packs. Boat clearly sounded different as both motors were making different noises and the speed was down. Voltages were all fine when I brought the boat back in. Can't recall if I had a flashing light, but I might. I dropped the LVC back to 3.2V and haven't had an issue since (aside from running aground!)
Thanks for the replies. I never touched the LVC and it hasn't been a problem before.
I may just go back and refresh all the settings to see if that works.
It's weird to me that it is the same exact condition on both ESCs at the same time.
Just contacted horizon on my ESC and there going to replace the one that's acting up. The tech said the flashing red light is indicating LVC . but only one of mine was flashing
