    Zelos 36 battery tray

How have you guys that have had your battery/electronics tray come lose fixed it?

It's held in by 4 little pads and that seems like not much for the amount of weight it is subjected to in a flip.

Any suggestions for beefing it up?

Also any suggestions for a removable battery tray mod? I run my batteries pretty far forward and it's pretty hard to get my hands in the hull to fasten some of the velcro straps.

Also is the slow cure the right stuff to use to re-attach the pads? I'm thinking a big fillet of epoxy around the pads could help too?

    TIA

    Hi Gman,
I had my tray come loose on 2 different zelos now. I used marine goop to re attach the pads to the hull. Seems secure but I have not ran the boat yet after making the repair. I like goop because it's a strong bond yet somewhat flexible under force where I've seen epoxy break. Good luck getting her fixed up.

I used aquarium silicon on mine. They are removable with screws as it is now.

That's a good idea. I think I even have some marine goop already.

Yeah but you have to pull the whole electronics tray.

I was thinking about cutting the tray in front of the escs so I could pull just the batteries.

I've seen pictures of some neat removable trays made out of balsa in rc planes.
