    Teflon washer important?

How important is the teflon washer that is between the drive dog and the strut? Does it do much to prevent wear if the gap is adjusted properly? Mine is now missing. Boat is a BJ 29.

    Cheers,

If the gap is correct it is not required. I think it's there for those that put it too close so it doesn't destroy itself against the strut.

Thanks. Pretty much what I was thinking. I added a few to my Kintec Racing order anyway.

I leave one on there on a few boats. Lets me know if it rubs when it gets marked up.
