ProBoat Miss Geico, Blackjack 29 RTR

I recently wrecked my Geico hull (it is a V1 w/ 1500kv w/ stock ESC) That was my first boat and now I'm addicted. My buddy and I just got the New BJ29 and running 3s 5000mah 35c and out of the box pretty good performance. Trying to decide should I get another BJ29 to tinker w or I've been considering the Genesis 41-42" hull. Looking for any advice

I am still learning about ESC combos any thoughts for reliable ESC motor combo to run in a PB Cat or the Genesis?

When you say "3s", I assume you mean 2 "3s" in series for a 6s (22.2V) total, right? Thats a lot of rpm for a stock BJ29 1800Kv motor (39960 rpm) or did you swap out the motor from your MG29 V1 (1500Kv), which would be better on 6s (33300 rpm).? 4s or 5s would be much safer for the BJ29 motor.

correct sir, (2) 3s in series I havent gps yet but not getting to warm motor or ESC so far. The BJ29 wont stay in the water, front end is still lifting up w/ throttle left. Sorry don't mean to sound dumb, but are you saying the 1500kv would be better w/ (2) 6s with a bigger ESC? Trying to find a reliable combo but fast, right now we just race each other on private lake. I am thinking of taking the 1500kv & ESC dropping into a smaller MG hull either 17 or 24 to try for fun.

There is quite a long discussion about this motor/esc combination in the "old" PB Impulse 31 forum regarding the new Impulse 31 V2 ... its got 99 posts, mostly about about the motor/esc, which is the same motor/esc combo as in the BJ29.

If I could find a Genesis state side, I'd be all over it. I have had a bad experience with HobbyKing and will never order from them or any other overseas vendor.
