    proboat miss budweiser old style

I need some help choosing drive hardware for this boat. I going to run a 1800 kv motor with a 5mm shaft. It currently has a 1/8 straight shaft. I am not looking for all out speed just something I can horse around with. Should I keep the 1/8 shaft or replace it with flex shaft? If so what size.

If you are just "horsing" around with it I would just leave the stock shaft in it.I have two of these, one converted and one stock in waiting. The converted one does have a flex in it now. What batteries were you thinking of running with a 1800 kv?

Batteries will be 4s 5000mah lipo's, and I was thinking 1.4x40 glass filled prop, but these only come in 3/16 shaft sizes. Would a 1.4 x 35 be too small?

You mean 2s each side to get 4s? I am running 3s2p in mine with a 1512 2650kv motor. So far I'm running a X435 and I've got a couple 37-38mm props here to try.one is 1.6 and one is 2.0.Also have the V935.I'm just getting mine going. Here is the first run http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A2BJr5w0Vkc&feature=plcp
        Everything is different now.
These did only run 32-35 props originally.

I was going to use 1 4s1p pack, but not sure if it will fit in the front cockpit area.

Finally got the boat running. Ended up using a 36mm XYH-B3656 KV1800 motor, solid shaft, X435 prop, 5s A123 batteries. Actually. it's fast, but I don't have anything to compare it to. The biggest issue right now is just trying to keep the water out of the hull. I'll post some pics and hopefully a video later.
