    Throttle/ESC problem

Once I connect the battery packs and squeeze and hold the throttle trigger to arm the ESC (1 beep) then release the throttle trigger (3 beeps) the motor starts to run. It's not turning very fast but I can't seem get the throttle to close all the way. Adjusting the trim knob only brings it down somewhat.

However it will stop running if I push the trigger all the way forward and hold it there.

    WTF?

Try reversing the throttle, mines set to "R".

Mine is set on R as well - will try the N position.

It sounds like the esc is not recognising the neutal position of the radio as the off position.
I'm guessing this is a SV27 motor & esc with a Tactic 2.4? Some radios require the throttle to be set in the reverse position and the Tactics come through that way. (Futaba requires reversing for use with an esc as well)
With a Turnigy esc you are supposed to (on it's 1st use or when moved to a different radio) hold the throttle wide open when applying battery power, then after it beeps release the trigger back to it's neutral spot. This allows it to set it's throttle limits. Don't know if it will help with what you have (it may put the esc in programming mode so if you have a manual check it) but it's a thought.

I'm really at a loss for an explanation on it myself. It's not the same as the esc that came in my UL-1 (which armed and worked like it's supposed to right out of the box).
If it's a new boat you might want to take it back where you bought it. There may be something "not right" with the esc or radio. Otherwise you might check with Hippie or Hebner. I think both of them have SV27's

Well I just tried it again and everything worked as it's supposed to.

I think I had the throttle trim set incorrectly.
