    Hard case lipos

I am wondering if hard case lipos are really waterproof & are they better to run in boats? I just want to know because I am thinking of running these lipos in my SV27.

I would not pay extra for a hard case if you think that is going to keep the water out of the lipo because it is would be no better than a soft case lipo for that unless you have other RC stuff like a car to run them in

There are good deals on hardcase just bust them apart and you have a regular lipo. They are not sealed that well so if you do get water or even condensation in there it will play hell with the tabs, etc. if not dried out.

Heating and cooling makes condensation when in moist or high humidity environments (ours)

So I guess the hard cases are only good for bashing & abuse. So how does max amps waterproof their hard cases?

I "waterproof" my lipos with a high temperature hot glue gun. I don't bother with the hard cases for reasons stated above. If I do swamp the boat....which I have a few times with lipos, I make sure to stand the batts up and either put them in the sun for quite a while to help the moisture evaporate. I have also read that some guys keep spare heatshrink and just cut the old heatshrink if they get wet and then dry them out and put on new heatshrink. Another option that might be good is to dunk the packs in the coating material that is used on handles for pliers. You can find that stuff at automotive and hardware stores.
