    SV motor and esc

    they came today (thanks tom)!!!

cant wait to get the supervee setup...my only question....when i plug in a 6 cell batt, the motor (????) beeps.....and theres no throttle response....does the esc need to be programmed? if so, is there a manual for it?

You have to arm the ESC EVERY TIME you plug in the batts...

    1) Turn on your transmitter.
    2) Plug in the Batts.
    3) When it "beeps", pull full throttle on your TX.
    4) When it "beeps", release the throttle.

You should now be armed and ready to go...

i tried that...it only works when the throttle is reversed (so when i push out the trigger, it goes) and it only shakes (i think people cal it cogging) and has quick bursts of throttle...

Sounds like your TX needs to have the "Servo Reversing" set to the opposite of whatever it is now for the throttle...

Not sure about the cogging part, but I'm going to assume for now that has something to do with the reverse settings on the TX... Ususally they are a % of the Forward settings, etc...

btw, don't hold full throttle when you plug-in the batts...unless you want to enable the 'brake' function :)

....turns out proboat radios dont need to be reversed, but you need to set the throttle trim all the way clockwise or the motor will already go when you plug in the bats....yeah, i noticed the motor brakes now....but since i have the setting right, next time i plug in the batts the motor wont take off on me

unless you run a very small prop (youll be getting very close to 40,000rpms) it wont....at those rpms, an L size motor will have barely any tourque to it...

So what application would you use an L motor. why would steve even bother?

6-8 cells with limited space, I gather that the L series(same overal size as a 600) works nicely for an 8cell boat.

something that ive been wondering for a while, is the supervee motor an S size motor? because when i compare it to my quantam (exact same dimensions as feigaoXL) there is alteast a 20-25mm difference in can length....i know it has a low KV level, but im surprised an S motor can push the supervee that fast and have the tourque to spin a 40mm 3 blade prop...

you're overlooking one distinct difference between a feigao and the sv motor(henchforth svm) a feigao is a 2 pole while the svm has 6 poles, that gives the svm the torque to twist a whole lot more prop! well the svm is running on twice the voltage too...

the 9l motor is a good motor for low cell count and a light boat
