Check all the screws to make sure they are tight and grease the flex shaft.

It may be a good idea to take all of the hardware off and run a tad bit of silicone on it .Mine leaked in through there and i've heard of a few other people havin the same problem but its a good boat ,have fun with that.

For your first boat I would do these things before I hit the water.

Spray 2-3 good coats of Polyurethane on the wood. Make sure you tape up everything if you are using a spray because it tends to overspray onto you gloss coat and motor if not removed.

Remove all bolts one at a time and put a fine layer aquarium silicone in the treads. Not much is needed so don’t over coat. Do a bath tub test check for leaks and repeat is more sealant is needed. Rember to grease the shaft or water will flow threw the stuffing box.

Check your cooling hose by forcing water threw the pipes. Check water jacket for proper flow and leaks.

Last... USE HATCH TAPE... Go to Wal-Mart automotive section and get clear electrical tape its like 2 bux and it works great.

Good luck your first run is the most stressful but once you got that under you belt its fun as ...

Make sure the water cooling line is not plugged up, when i got mine brand new i found the cooling jacket on the ESC was plugged up solid with what looked like epoxy or something, i had to drill it out. I would also invest in a set of adjustable trim tabs and a metal prop, the difference in performace/handling is quite noticable! Have fun, it's great little boat!!

All of the above you should do. Also make sure you read the below tech notes...
SuperVee 27 RTR (AQUB17**) Tech Notes
                Arming the ESC
To arm the AquaCraft SuperVee 27 Brushless power system, follow the steps below:

                1. Install fresh "AA" batteries in your AquaCraft transmitter.
                2. Turn the throttle trim knob - located on the far right top of the transmitter - fully counter-clockwise (see illustration).
                3. Make sure that the throttle servo reversing switch is in the down position (see illustration).
                4. Turn the transmitter "ON".
                5. Install two charged, 6-cell battery packs in your SV27 Brushless boat. Then, plug them into the ESC (electronic speed control) inside the boat.
                6. Listen for a single beep.
                7. Pull the throttle trigger all the way back (as if to apply full power). Listen for a single beep.
                8. Release the throttle trigger to neutral and listen for the five remaining beeps. Your boat is now ready to operate.

If your boat does not beep in the order listed above, re-check the settings on the hand-held transmitter and repeat the steps above.

                Centering Rudder Trim

Perfectly centered trims are always essential for any model. This is beneficial if the trim knob or lever ever gets inadvertently moved on your transmitter.

If you find after trimming your SuperVee 27 that it will not go perfectly straight without corrections from the steering wheel, follow these steps to center your transmitter's steering trim knob.

Install a charged set of batteries in your boat and power it up like you are going to take it for a run.

                2.
Center the ST.TRIM knob on the top of your transmitter. (see Figure 1 below)

Remove the radio box cover from inside the boat.

Look down at the top of the steering servo and note the position of the servo arm. When the ST.TRIM knob on top of your transmitter is centered, the servo arm should be perpendicular (90deg angle) to the steering rod. The rudder blade on the back of the boat should also be perpendicular to the steering rod. (see Figures 2 and 3 below)

Go to the aquacraft site for diagrams, see Tech Notes.

I would also put the radio servo in a balloon... if you take on water, it will save you a headache.

Lastly, take a piece of foam that the boat is packaged with and cement it to the cowl hatch. This will prevent the hatch from sinking if it becomes dislodged.

I have one and I love the boat...in fact my second one should be in tomorrow.

You have a few choices here. The Grimracer 42X55, Octura X640 or X642, Prather 215 or 220.

I used some 2 part apoxie on the wood base and velcro straps. I didnt do that until the next season because i wanted to see if i was going to keep the existing rig or update.

IMO with the stock set-up the radio box is a keeper your electrics are pretty safe inside. I have never had a problem with mine but I now have an ETTI 150 in mine and of coarse it will not fit in there. However if you do decide to remove the radio box Kintec has a nice set-up, it is a piece of hardwood with a servo mount that is a direct replacement with no adjustments necessary. Before you do this though make sure you have taken care of all of your leaks and USE HATCH TAPE

I just cut mine down, leaving the rudder servo untouched. The exc still fits in nicely and dosent move as there is still 2cm of lip and the wires just sit in the curve where they use to go throughh the box wall. and yes the boat must be waterproof with hatch tape.
