    SV27 Newbie Questions ....

    Hello all !

I'm new to FE boating but not to RC (my first RC Car was a Tamiya Super Champ).

I recently bought an SV27 from the Swap Shop and I need to order parts to upgrade/complete the boat and I'm trying to get this done by July 4th weekend.

    • I'm planning on running the boat with my Futaba 3PM

    • I ordered some Lipos from z400 in the Swap Shop 2X RCLab 7.4v 2s 4000mah 25c packs

    • I'll order a Liposaver or Liposhield for use with the stock ESC

    • I wanted to upgrade to a wire drive system but I have no idea what I need here's my shopping list (this is using the stock stinger):
    - wire drive (.62 to 3/16 to 1/8 or .62 to 3/16)
    - new stuffing tube (size )
    - teflon liner (size ?)
    - coupler (OSE Straight 5mm to .62)

    • I also need advice on a prop. I'm more concerned with good run times and not frying the ESC or motor vs. all out speed
    - found prop suggestions CF45, Octura X440, X440/2, X640, M440, ABC 40x53, 40x52/3, Prather 215, 220

Thanks for any advice you can give me !

    Dave

I agree about the wire drive. I bought the OSE flex. It is much nicer than stock and fit perfectly. For props I like CF45 and Grim 42x55 but you gotta balance the metal one. Neither prop will heat anything up too much if the boat is running right.
