This is probably too late now as I assume you've already charged the packs.
The first charge with new packs should be a 'formation charge'. That is 1/10c, or in this case 0.5A. This allows the cells to balance & gets the chemistry working .
After that a charge rate of 1c, (5A) or less, is acceptable. 4A is fine. If you have time 1/2c is better & your packs generally will last longer.
It will take a few cycles for the packs to take on a full capacity charge. Take care not to over discharge them especially for the first few runs. As soon as you feel the power drop bring the boat in.
If you have already charged & used the packs it wouldn't hurt to discharge the packs on a 1A setting down to 5.4V (0.9V/cell) & then charge at 0.5V. Doing this once every 10 cycles or so, is a good idea too. Helps keep the cells conditioned.
Do it after a run when the batteries are low so the discharge time down to 5.4V won't be too long.
    Cheers.
    Paul.
See the danger. THEN DO IT ANYWAY!!!
