    Very unstable!

I know I have seen this post before, but for the life of me can't find it now. If you can direct me to the post that would be great or shoot me the answer here.

I took the boat out today and it took forever getting up on plane. The prop just seemed to be cathing all air. When it got up on plane it was chine walking like crazy with no water out of the water cooling outlet. (checked with a can of air. no kinks air goes through fine.) It was very unstable and got a bit better at full throttle. I bent my tabs down on the inside corners like on a previous post. I am running the stock prop but just got in the Graupner 2 blade 45mm and 2 blade 48mm.

I looked at doing a bit of a negative strut angle, but it doesn't seem to move down or up much at all. (like almost none) Where it mounts to the boat is right up against the stern and it looks like that is what is not allowing me to make the adjustment. What am I missing?

On one of mine I had to remove some material from the strut itself to be able to move it down. You shouldnt need to move it too far anyway. The stock prop is horrible. I have had good luck with X642 and Prather 220. What batteries are you running?
    Many issues!!!

What about COG? Do search. Moving your batteries forward will help boat run more stable.

I have always adjusted my trim tabs slightly downward until porposing stops.

Stinger should be adjusted level or inline with hull bottom.

Rough water will cause SV to be unstable also

Thanks all, The pond was nearly flat calm today. I am running 2 x EP4500 6 Cell 7.2volt NiMh batteries. I will give moving them up a bit a shot and give her another run.

Well, I moved my batteries up almost half their length and what a difference. It is very stable not and shoots up on plane with the Graupner 2 blade 45mm. The motor semed to get pretty hot when I switched to the 48mm. I think my next task it to re-do the cooling system.

Stick with the 45mm...too much pitch loads the motor, it can't wind up and it overheats!

48mm prop works fine with these boats. I don't think my motor ever has gone over 120* running a CF48
a CF45 is my favorite prop, little better run times, and still decents speeds

Im running 8.4v NIMH with the batteries located almost flush with the motor mount and a CF42 prop and trim tabs a little negative. I also added an extra water pickup which I'm running directly to the motor with an upgraded waterjacket, also I have installed a port side turn fin and upgraded trim tabs. I have a "Y" cooling tube adaptor so that the esc cooling and motor cooling use the stock water exit port. With this setup my SV gets on plane very quick runs cool and is very stable and the CF42 is rather easy on the batteries. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b4zJuvKbYTk
