    Upgrading my SV27

    Hey guys!,
    it's my first time here.

I got some great advice from Steve and i would also like to ask you if anyone ever tried the NEU 1512 on a supervee 27.
I'm planning to upgrade mine and i wanted to know how fast it could go with it.

    Thank you for your help

Hey check out my Youtube channel here:

He is using the 8xl Fiago with a Castle Hydra 120 and two 2s 30c 5000mah lipos wired in series(4s1p). The 7xl Fiago would be too hot I think. The 9XL would be safer (no fires) for casual sport running because of its lower KV rating.

There are several 1512 Neus - which one were you considering? I think that the 8XL would be a far better choice, it will drive the boat as fast as it can be controlled. More power will just make the boat too fast and it will not be fun to drive unless all you care about is GPS racing. You really need a larger boat to take advantage of the power of the Neu.

BTW the best mods for the near-stock SV27 are these:

          -GrimRacer/ABC 42x55 prop
-SV27 specific adjustable trim tabs from www.offshoreelectrics.com
          -Port side turn fin
-6 oz of lead taped in under the motor

You'll need more lead with a hotter motor and more prop.
