    lipo (2) 2s 5000mah battery place ment

Hey guys, I got my replacement sv27 in yesterday do to cracked hull hehe. I striped the boat to bare hull and fiberglass resined the side with some extra cloth. Seems to be much stronger. Anyway I'm about to start coming up with a flood chamber but before I do so I was wonder where is the sweet spot for two 2s lipos around 5000mah. Can anyone post some pics for me. thanks guys

    Brad,
don't worry about pics, all setups will vary, so do the battery weights, just try and set your centre of gravity at about 8 1/2 to 9 inches from the transom and you will be pretty close.

EDIT: Have a look at this thread for a couple of pics of mine - http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...ead.php?t=6858

    Thanks...Tim.

sorry for the stupid question but transom is the rear of the boat? Also I've read 7 1/2 wow I guess eveyone like different setups. Will more weight up front cg help the boat to get on plane faster?

        Brad,
Yep, the transom is the back of the hull. Just draw a small mark on your boat about 8 inches from the transom, then balance it on your fingers whilst you set up the battery position. You can then estimate 1/2 inch or so either way of your mark.

Make sure your tabs are neutral or slightly down, about 1mm, I find with the tabs down it actually helps lift the rear of the boat a little and goes a little better.

Try Tabs down, 8 inch COG, strut neutral (or timy bit up) and you will have a good place to start your fine tuning.

Only make one change at a time, then run again.

            Good start,
now each run, lift the tabs a tiny amount and play with your battery placement until you have a nice stable but light running boat.

I would purchase a X642 prop as well. Your set up with X642 should run 35 to 38 mph, if you can warrant the cost a small GPS is great for checking the changes you have made in your set-up.

I have mine at 38mph, and I don't think I can get a lot more with the current set-up so I have just ordered a couple of 3S lipo's to try 6S, now it should boogie. I just need a couple of smaller props to start out on with the increased rev's

            Enjoy....Tim.

Nah, I've upgraded the ESC to a 100 amp unit from a Heli that I picked up at the ricght price then watercooled. It is rated to 6S.

                Cheers..Tim.
