    X642 vrs X442 and M44

Got some run time in the past two days. I wanted to see how long I can safetly run the boat on a set of these new 5000 lipo packs I got. I ran each prop 6 min and counted how many mAh went back in, then I did it at 8 min, next is ten for the X642 What i saw that did surprise me was the X442 used the most energy out of the packs, recharging at about 3500 mah. then came the M445 at about 3200 mAh but the shock to me was to see the X642 only at 2900mAh. I will add 2 more min and I think it should dig into 3/4 of the 5000 rated. So far its safe to say 10 solid miniutes with my setup and a X642. Packs were a tad warm only. I wonder if there is a even more efficiant prop. I will try the stock issue prop maybe a cf45 tomarrow.

        good info !

Thanks for the data, Joey. While I don't own a SV, I'm setting up an LSO boat that has to last 4 minutes on the course. The last run with the X442 was amp hungry; I'll try the X642 after seeing your results.

Here is Grims choice of prop the 3 bladed (CF or plastic) prop that came with the boat. As a 6 cell Nimh guy, I never liked this prop, but when you stick these 5000mAh 7.4 packs in a SV and the prop becomes a excellent prop. Even the toughness of planing the boat out is all but gone with the newer lipo batteries. The packs took about 3350mAh of charge. I am sold on performance. Better effic then the X442 and a little worse the M445.

Just ran the p741/4. She does hesitate out of the hole with the SV but she flys. It dont like tight turns but if you like to drive, this prop is sweet. My guess is this prop ate energy we will see. All my temps are all good, the packs are just getting warm running hard at 8 min. Packs took 3750mAh, so far the least efficiant. next to try is the CF45 and CF48. then I am out of props to try (-:

Good morning Joey! This is probably a stupid question, but what the heck. The lipo batteries you have in the SV, are they hooked up to the stock battery wiring harness in the SV?

                  Thanks!

mhall, You can hook lipo's up to the standard SV harness. You just need to be aware of the voltage of the batteries as you uses them as the ESC doesn't have a low voltage cutoff.

So, as long as I don't run the batteries all the way down, in other words, pay attention to the speed of the boat, everything should be OK.
