    Newbie / Lipo / Esc Stuff...help !?

hI THERE ! JUST GOT THE SUPERVEE... ! GOES WELL ON WATER...BUT NOT SPEEDING LIKE IT IS SUPPOSED TO ! MY COOLING SYSTEM IS NOT PUMPING WATER...I GUESS I HAVE TO TEST IT TO FIND WHERE IT IS BLOCKED... ANYWAYS, MY REAL QUESTION IS: WITH STOCK ESC, I HAD 2 3800 NIMH PACK, THEY STARTED TO HEAT UP A LOT AFTER ONLY 15 SEC !! MELTING THE PLASTIC ON ONE OF THEM !! WHY ? (NOT SURE, BUT I THINK THEY DO NOT GIVE ENOUGH AMPS, OR THE LOAD FROM SHAFT IS TOO HIGH... LET ME KNOW !) / THEN, I WANT TO MOVE UP TO LIPO... BOUGHT 2 7.4 5000 MAH AT 12C (24 BURST) I KNOW THEY ARE NOT THE BEST, BUT GOT THEM FOR A LOW PRICE... I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHATS BEST TO DO... PARRALEL OR SERIAL ? I DO NOT REMEMBER WICH IS WICH ? ALL I KNOW IS THAT ONE OF THEM WILL BRING THE VOLTS TO 14.4 AND THE OTHER WILL ONLY INCREASE THE MAH VALUE (CANT PUT A NAME ON THE 14.4 OPTION OR THE OTHER ! LOL) WHATS BEST TO DO ?? WHAT IS THE STOCK CONNECTION ON THE BOAT ? PLEASE HELP ! OH... FORGOT, JUST ORDERED AN OCTURA M440 BERYLLIUM COPPER PROPELLER... SHOULD BE BETTER THAN STOCK ONE...

    PAT :)

a 5000mah 12c lipo will carry a 60amp load cont. MORE than enough for the stock esc/motor. + you will get decent runtimes as well. Just plug the lipos into the stock harness it will wire the bats in series. just like the nimh your running. the prob. regarding your bats melting the shrink wrap after 15 sec. are you saying 15 sec. after you plug them in they just get hot? If so you have a short. somewere and you cant run untill you get that sorted out. check to make sure your prop turns try to spin the prop with your hand. It should be real tight and then spring over. Ifs it a totaly stock sv27 it shouldent get the nimh that hot esp. after just a few min. or sec for that matter. and regarding your cooling system. make sure there are no kinks int he lines. take a mouth full of water and blow it thru the rudder. it should come out of the side pretty easly. also the water pick up only work when your going straight or turning right.
      hope that helps/

        thanks Dubkatz !

my 3800 nimh got hot after 15 seconds of engine running (almost max speed) with the boat in my hands (only for test purpose, I had the rudder in water at that time...but I now i know the boat has to go forward to pick up water...anyways) and speaking of time, I think it was like 10 sec ! not 15 !// I will look first for any water line problem...i really think it is jammed somewhere, maybe by too much silicone (as i read in another discussion)

Regarding my battery-packs i used... it's nimh as i said... i do not know the current spec in C . if it is low C , and the internal components of the boat where under ''heavy loads'' because of stock adjustments or so... maybe thats why it got seriously hot so rapidly ?
