charge the batteries, make sure there are no leaks on the hull (bathtub test),
lube the flex, make sure the prop is tight in place, check if rotation
is right (CCW)... if it's not, swap places of any 2 cables between the motor
and ESC, make sure the Tx (transmitter) has good batteries and turn on,
secure hatch in place with hockey tape (or equivalent) after batteries
    are connected, have fun.
Also be sure to take basic tools to fix any mishaps... don't let you day at the pond
be ruined because your prop nut is loose and you don't have the tools to tighten it.
Take some tools to adjust the stinger, I hear they usually are not set properly straight outta the box.

Yes... flotation is needed in case there is a slow leak or if/when you flip.
I thought the SV came with something already...

Also check the cooling system for leaks and crimping. Mine had both. I'm sure the stuffing tube is out of allignment but you can worry about that later when you order a new flex cable from Steven! Hatch tape is VERY important. If the boat hops real bad right off the bat move the batteries forward.

And there's a hole on the hatch for the attenna to go thru. How can i cover the hole to prevent water from getting in??

Not 100% sure but Darin probably had more knowledge on tweaking the SV than most.

I would would thru the boat and check everything. I have heard some bad cases when this is not done. Check for motor alignment with the flex shaft. Screws and nuts tight? Water proofed and the typical stuff like that.

You want a good expereince first out. I do basically all of this about every 4-5 runs anyway. Better safe than sorry.

Always use loctite thread locker on all screws. Set screws on the motor, etc.

This could be coming from the stuffing tube. If the water line is higher than the stuffing tube height inside then sitting it in wate will do that. Not a problem when running. Check it out and leave the hatch off and watch. Seams are known to leak and the boot around the sterring shaft as well.

Did the bathtub test without the hatch to check leakage again. Yes! leak is comin from the shaft n turn fin...Do i use epoxy to patch up the area???

Water is coming in around the stuffing tube at the hull? The use an epoxy or marine epoxy. Any nut and things like that use a good silcone...I like goop for many things.

If it is coming up the tube between the cable and stuffing tube then you need to seal the end with silicone tubing slipped over the cable and on to the stuffing tube. You just want the tubing to hardly touch the cable. I use shrink tubing and like it better. CA it to your stuffing tube, inser the cable then shrink it around your cable.
