Yes 2 7 cells are fine but do away with BEC and run a seperate receiver pack.
      Many issues!!!

pugman 2... you can have 14 cells, but with a trick you can have 16 or 18 cells...with bec battery of course.

As long as a couple of those cells are toast.

Maybe he will do much better if he runs unparallel cell packs and unmatched cells,so that boat can be fully raceable...LOL

is that how it works , 1 cell per 1 MPH, thats an easy fix to hit 60.
i reckon i have 80 or so cells lying around lol

                        Don't cut wires...two ways I do this

                        1) simply remove the esc's red wire socket from the plug and fold it back onto the wires and tape/heat shrink it in place
                        2) make an extension up that has the same thing done to it or has had the red wire cut off.that way you're not messing with the esc's plug
I've included a couple pics in case my words weren't clear enough

If you don't mind me asking, why do you disconnect the BEC? I have been running 14 cells in my supervee without unhooking the BEC. Am I gonna ruin something or is that just a personal preference??

                          thanks

The BEC inside a ESC can only regulate so much voltage that is connected by a battery by design. When you conntect more voltage than it can handle, it's not capable anymore, so glitching, heating, etc occur. So, you disconnect the red wire to not get this voltage and supply the ESC with voltage it can handle, hence the seperate battery pack.

                              Hope that clarifies.

                              Peace~
