sv27 hull crack

i recently bought a sv 27 on ebay for $130 and it had one minor spider crack in the gelcoat and after running for 2 days= 5 runs=about 7 min each i got home today and i noticed that ther was about 3 good sized cracks and 1 all the way through the glass and the gelcoat. I DID NOT hit anything where i ran is about 5 ft deep all around and my batts were secure. i dont know is this has happend to anyone exept me but it just ruined the 3 coats of wax/ploish on top and bottom and the good sturdy looks of it

If it is on the seam, its a normal thing with these boats, from what I've been told.

Jan at Kintec Racing suggest applying at least 2 layers of Fiberglass Strips (2" wide- Medium weight. Great for adding strength to seams or surfaces). At the same time I went ahead and applied some epoxy to all the wood and transom area in my SV. It's a well known issue with the SV and since I'm hoping to push mine, I figured the extra support would be a wise choice.

The two on the sides are where the sides and bottom parts of the hull are joined probably, this is where you need to run a strip of fiberglass the length of the boat on both sides. They also crack along the top of the transom, not sure what to say about the bottom crack thats not normal, is it where the wood rails inside the boat would be? If so the rails could have come loose and allowing it to flex.
Which one is all the way through? Minor gel coat cracks are normal on hulls that have a very thin layup. A lot of people add a layer of carbon fiber cloth to the inside bottom of the hull as reinforcement.

The one on the lower right side is all the way through them the one on the bottom in in front of the motor but not all the way through

you'll just have to reinforce the inside (where the cracks are) with some fibreglass strips and some z-poxy finishing resin.

The outside can be lightly sanded and then re-sprayed if you wanted to make it like new again. There are some posts on this forum
that shows some crack/damage repairs

but dosnt the supervee have gelcoat ? and i want to keep the factory orange

yes it does have a gelcoat, you can get touchup paint from Jan at Kintecracing.com

don't know mate, think they're a close enough match,

I resprayed mine silver, have a look on the kintec website....

yeah mate,

just the usual...

Upgraded trim tabs,
bigger prop, Grim 42x55
upgraded flexshaft and collet
ammo 2300 motor,
seaking 60amp esc,
transom water intake (I use 2 water intakes 1 on ESC and 1 on motor)
replaced all water tubing for bigger gauge and bigger exit ports one on either side,
Removed all radio box (upgraded to carbon fibre servo platform/holder)
tatic 2.4ghz controller and reciever,
And resprayed red and silver!
