    My first FE build

Ok let me start by saying that I have been running BL trucks for a while. I was the first at my local track to run a BL E-revo before there was a BL version.
I have had my share of failures lol...as all of us have had.
I would like to set this up for having fun and in a way that will work without constant repair.
    Any advise will help.
Here are some pictures of the boat as I received it.

I am wondering if the strut is too low.

Also I am debating on what combo to run.
I have the boat with all the hardware pictured.....
    I already have a few 2s 25c 5000 and few 3s 25c 5000 lipos
a aquacraft 45a (4s max)esc with the added blue water jacket and a novak lipo cuttoff
    a 7xl 2382kv feiago....on 3s?(26,440 rpm) or
    a 9xl 1853kv feiago .....on(27,424rpm) 4s

I am leaning towards the 3s packs because....2x 3s in parellel is 11.1v 25c 10000 mah (200+amps) 1 pack on each side of the boat.
    Ideas are welcome
    Thanx
    Daniel

Nice build! I like the 7XL/3S option best....but the ESC may not turn on at the low voltage. I think it needs 12 volts minimum. The 9XL/4S will drive the boat just fine too.

The esc (original model with optional water cooling and no lipo cuttoff) does run on 3s....I tried in a bench test.I will try it on 2s to see if it will run.
But I don't know about the higher amp draw at the lower voltage (3s instead of 4s)
Also what do you think about the strut ...too low?
      prop suggestions?

      Thanx

Ok I just tried the esc on 2s and it arms and works so I should be fine at 3s
Now I still have the strut question ; does the strut look too low? any suggestions?
I have 2 props.....1@PRB0151 and 1@ TRX42....which one do yall think would be better with the 7xl on 3s
any info on the props size and pitch???
        Any help is appricated.

This boat comes with the strut exiting the transom above the keel vee. Most modern monos do the same. The submerged prop on this boat will put a larger drain on the motor/ESC/packs, so you'll need to run a smaller prop than is usual with surface drives. I am not familiar with either of the props mentioned but they are likely too big/aggressive. You will probably want to start with an Octrura y536 or x438. You want a non-lifting prop like the Octura props I listed. An alternative would be to re-do the drive to a surface drive and use "normal" props, but that's a lot of work. I'd invest in a couple props and see how you like the present configuration. It may run just fine.

This is the original transom configuration for that boat.

Ok I have some specs on the props
            PRB0151 is
            1.6" x 2.5" Composite Propeller [PRB0151]
TRX 42 looks like a traxxas Propeller,
            42x59mm

I believe that both props may be too big for a submerged drive. If you run them, only run for one minute (use a stop watch!) and check for heat in the motor and ESC. I think you'll like a smaller prop better.

I think I will put the strut settup kinda like stock....... but using the strut thats on it.
How far back from the transom should the prop be?
Also how far up off the keel should the center line for the strut be?
Would this mod make either of the props that I listed work?
I await all ideas and comments.
                Thanx

                  Ok I need some help.
If I want to use the strut I have on my sv27 now , what size tubing should I use for a wet well setup? As I have never done this before,so what would be the best way with what I have?
I have seen the ones on the impulse 31 in a picture and I believe I could set my sv27 up in a similar way so I would have some room for adjustments.
                  Any help is welcome
