    Help with upgraded SV setup

    Rounded up some equipment and would like to try it out in the SV.

    Currently running the stock motor and esc, and not too fond of how jerky the low speed control is.

    I have a medusa 60mm 1600kv motor and a turnigy 120 amp marine esc. Plan to run this on 5s, I have 4kmah 40c lipos.

    Not looking for a crazy speed setup, low 40s would be just fine. I really like the boat with a 1.4p 40mm prop. I have tried a few others and the stock gear seems to like this the best.

    What I am wondering is what is the kv of the stock sv motor? I am wondering the 1600kv medusa on 5s will spin faster than the stock motor on 4s?

    I have also replaced the rubber with the solid nitro sv rudder. So I need another location for the water pickup. I was using a pipe soldered thru a hole in the trim tab, but it has come loose and I would like a better solution. I do have a transom mount water pickup from aquacraft, but I have heard that some have handling issues with transom mounted pickups. I went away from the rudder with water pickup as it contantly clogged, and then it hit the prop after a turtle surfaced in front of the boat!!!

    This is just a sport boat, nothing special. I just want a more effecient system and I have the mentioned gear laying around.

    I have both a X440 and x640 props. The x642 seemed to load the motor and esc too much, and it is now bent thanks to a fish or something. Guessing I should start with the 440 and move up to the 640 if temps are good?

    All help will be greatly appreciated, thanks!

    1600x18.5 = 29000rpm- 1800x14.8 = 26000rpm so yes more rpm on 5s and 1600kv . X440 then x640 good start. X642 too much pitch for stock sv motor.

        Yeah, I would get alot of heat with the 642. I will polish and balance the 440 and 640. Thanks for the motor info.

        Please get me a pic, as I will need to upgrade the trim tabs since "someone" drilled a hole in one... HAHAHA

          I found it, Kintec racing is the correct name. I will order the parts from them asap.
