Boats running good now I want to start chaning things.

I’m getting 29mph speeds with the neutral everything and stock everything.
I want to try different props and possibly different turn fins.
I’m not running lipo so I know im not going to make this thing do 40mph plus.

Right now the boat is stable. It’s not running loose at all. I do have a turning problem and I think it’s because I screwed up and ordered another starboard turn fin for the other side of the boat.

Brings me to my first question should I get a new set of aftermarket turn fins or just buy the stock port side.

If I go aftermarket and possibly carbon 66mm long vs. stock 44mm will the drag slow the boat down?

I’m going to order a few new carbon props 2 blade 40mm and 45mm pitch 1.4mm

I might want to try a Grim Racer 42-55 but I need to find someone who can sharpen and balance.

Changing the collet? I can’t keep that little set screw in place. I need to tighten it every run. Not a real big deal, because I grease the flex shaft about every 3 runs. Is there an aftermarket collet with better set screws?

The boat is 99 percent water tight so I might get rid of the radio box. It’s heavy and seems like it gets in the way all the time.

Should I be happy with 29 mph with my set up or is lipos the only option to get more speed out of it. I only ask is because I was going to get another set of batteries and I would hate to go to lipos because the cost of a new charger.

    Thanks

You can get 7cell batteries they're really good! I use these
Not sure of my exact speed but it flys!
The stock port side turn fin is also good ( but boat will always turn better to right cos of the way the prop spins)

Balancing and shapening props is fairly easy, you need a balancer (i use a dremmel to sharpen and balance)

I have the opposite problem- can't undo the collet!

And lastly you can get everything you need from off shore electrics or kintec

    Hope this helps have fun
