I have the FASST version of the radio. To get the ESC to arm you need to do 3 things.
1 - Make sure that the throttle channel is set to "REV"
2 - make sure that the throttle trim is at full low. Keep pressing it until it beeps steady.
3 - the sub-trim on the throttle channel needs to be changed. Mine is set to +71
Then it works great. Turn on the TX, connect the battery. Listen for 1 beep.
Hold trigger to full throttle
Listen for another beep
Release trigger and get a short series of beeps.
All Futaba radios need the throttle reversed. First thing you do.
Here's why I use full low throttle and then set the arm point with the sub trim.
WIth this set up I do not have to worry about if I have moved the throttle trim. I run it all the way down and then set the sub trim. That way I am less likely to make a change due to bumbling around with the TX.
On one boat I did set the throttle trim to zero, but I still use the sub trim, because again, I cannot "accidentally" bump the sub trim.
Works for me.
