Crack in Back / Supervee Rudder Bracket

I have a crack in the back of my hull just above the rudder bracket. It runs along the wood seem about an inch long. Was wanting to know if anyone else has had this problem and fixed it already. I was thinking layering fiberglass on the inside or making a fiberglass plate (1 inch by 1 inch) where the rudder bolts up now. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I'm new to the boats, (been running nitro buggies and other R/C's for awhile) we getting some people around Hazlehurst GA running them. GOOD TIMES Thanks L Yaughn

i had the same problem. the crack was only on the outside tho, didnt go thru. i layered some fiberglass on the inside and put some ca glue in the crack, then sanded and repainted. this is a common problem

Count me in same problem. I hit something with the rudder coming in (before I had a shear bolt) and it tried to pull the lower rudder bracket bolt threw the transom. Didn't go all the way through. I sanded down the transom crack on the outside and laid new FG, sanded re-painted all good. Since adding the shear bolt new further issues...

I've already put the shear bolt in............for right now I made a plastic washer to put below the rudder to make the foot print bigger till I can get time to fiber it up. Thanks for the help it is much appreciated.
