supervee 27 leopard 4074 high volt

    hello

    i have a aquacraft supervee 27

she handles well with leopard 4074 1400kv 6 cell lipo and x642 prop
    i got 75kmt 1500watts 70amps datalogged.
i tried x645 no heat problems but the boats handling was a bit shaky.. i think it was flying because i could see the sun under the hull!!

i think it needs some more weight if i want more speed.

the motor is cold and can handle 2600watts max.

i have purchased a castle HV 120amp esc

i will try the leopard 4074 1400kv and x642 and 7 cell lipo and the hv esc.

then i will increase rpm from 31000rpm too 37000rpm

do you guys think this will work?

the boat will get a little more heavy with 7 cell and i think that is great..

My own opinion is a 4074/1400kv on 7S using a 645 is too much for a 120 amp esc. Just my 2 cents. I could be wrong, regardless with an SV27 you are not going to push the hull past a certain speed limit. Its a great boat. Its fun as all get up can go. But it has a limit. You can throw 5000 watts into it and its not going to go any faster then a setup with 1500 watts. Its a matter of physical size and performance. Lots of us have tried to push the limits and what we end up finding out is the hull cant provide the satisfaction we desire. I would be tickled to be the guy who could boost 60mph out of an SV27. Problem is the guys who are the experts cant make it happen.

I pushed for 60mph once in my SV. I took a chance. Needless to say the boat has been on the bench since that attempt and you can see the crash on my crash video in my signature ( its the very last clip). SV is a 50mph hull and runs great mid to high 40s. Like John said its great fun, but you aint gonna set any speed records with it. I don't think the setup you have is the best for the SV. For a bigger hull it would work better. UL-1 power is the best I have found for a SV... JMO

        sv 27

        hello

        thanks for reply

        i was going too use a x642 42mm prop

anyway i think the setup will be in another hull a df33

        setup:

        df 33
        leopard 4074 1400kv
        7 cell lipo 4000mah 25c/35c
castle creations 120amp high volt esc
        x642 prop

        anyone think this could work?

havent got the castle esc yet so i think i will try the setup above with 6 cell lipo and datalogger too see how many amps it will draw
same setup but with x645 used 115amps according to myu etti datalogger i guess with x642 it will draw less amps!?

Grab a swordfish 240hv http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...ef-sword-240hv and you'll have better head room to work with. Your setup will work with a DF33, but your gonna end up moving up in props. I have a Pursuit which is a DF33 copy running a leopard 4074 seaking 180 and a m445 and after about 3-4ms of runtime motor was 98F and esc was 112F, I got more props to test.

            prop

why do you say i will end up moving up in prop? if i turn a x642 at 37000rpm at 7cell

            or if i turn a x645 at 31000rpm at 6 cell

i think the 7 cell setup with the small prop will be faster.

according too the ose speed chart the leopard 4074 1400kv will give me a speed og 99kmph with 7 cell and x642

6 cell and x645 will give me 91kmph

so i guess 7 cell and a small prop should be fast..

Because that motor can swing a lot bigger prop. I would run 6s and a big prop. Bigger then a x645. What I do is grab a bunch of CF props for testing http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...t=Carbon+Props. I have from 40mm - 48mm. They are 1.4 pitch and their diameter make them very close to the octura x4 series props. On my 2200kv motor with a m445 the motor is running just warm (under 100F) and no torque roll issues so I'm gonna move up in prop size.

I'd see how the boat liked the x645 on 6s. If all is well I would move to a CF48 and see how it handled it. If all was well I would try a x648. That's JMO of course.
