    SV27 New Setup

I'm hoping to run my SV27 today, and I just wanna make sure everything is gonna work and not blow up.

I recently added the Ammo 2300 motor, and the 42x55 prop. I have the stock ESC. I also added a transom water pickup and installed an OSE water jacket on the motor. I'm running on 2x 5000mah LiPos (25-50c, 40-50c).

I also have the 40x52 prop on hand.

    So, will this be awesome?

Be carefull with that 42x55 prop, things can heat up. The 40x52 will be a little slower in the straights over the 42x55, but a better set-up with that motor. Checks temps with that motor, you may need to trim your boat a little loose. I prefer ul-1 power in a SV over the ammo 2300, but that's JMO. I hope you changed the connectors, 5.5mm would be best.

My temp gauge didn't come in yet, I should have it by next week though. I'm gonna keep my trim tabs neutral, and I believe I have the rudder tucked in. That's all the trimming I did.

I just got the ammo 2300, so I won't be getting the UL-1 motor for now. I did change all of the connectors to 5.5mm. They look good!

How long should I run the boat with those props?

I would run for maybe 3 minutes and bring it in and check for heat. also try to keep it on plane the whole time. not alot of on and off throttle.
        Many issues!!!

Alright, I'll do that. Thankfully it's like 50 F outside so the motor should cool down quickly.

If I'm running the 40x52 can I run it for 4 minutes?
And the 42x55 for like 2-3 minutes?

2-3 with the 42x55 and 3 with the 40x52 sounds good to start. All my runs and generally 3-5m total on all my setup anyway.

Just run it fast and keep an eye on heat. Let us know how it goes.

                  Alright, I'm back.

Conditions were not great today, but it still ran much better than ever before. At first the water was really choppy but it got calmer towards the end.

I didn't run the 42x55 cause it would've probably flipped, as it did with the 40x52. Thankfully just once :)

                  Fastest speed: 39.2mph

Cool man, glad to hear it. Just watch temps when you try the 42x55.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention temps. I ran it 3-4 minutes a run, and the motor didn't get hot. Only warm to the touch. Overall, it did pretty well.

Hopefully next week the weather will improve. Or tomorrow

Thanks for all the help guys!

As you stated that water conditions were not in your favor so ill will assume you didn't get full speed, because that mph is low. With that motor and a 40x52 you should be in the mid to high 40s and with a 42x55 you WILL break into the 50s if trimmed right. With the stock motor on 4s and a 42x55 you will get around 39mph on the gps as well (if trimmed right of course). That motor likes the boat to be really loose.

Yup, they were definitely not in my favor. Haha, at one point the boat flew straight out of the water and was airborne. It looked pretty cool, but I couldn't get that top speed. It could've definitely went a lot faster, it was just way too choppy. I really wanted to break 40 and I was so close!

I run the CF-42 prop and it works great!! can't wait to get a S&B metal prop... As soon as Diesel gives me the ok, and he's got the sanding and balancing down.. i'll send em his way.

I definitely saw a difference with my 40x52 when it was and wasn't S&B'd. I got mine from Egneg, he did a great job. I'm also waiting on a x445 from him for my Pursuit boat.

                              How's your SV doing?
