    Bounded Flex Shaft

Hey guys, ran my boat today and the flex shaft bound up between my brass tube and the motor coupler and I had to cut the shaft to get it out and Im looking for a new shaft and coupler. First off Id like to know how this happend, I noticed the coupler sliping a lot no matter how much I tightend it, it would always come loose. Second id like to know if anyone can suggest an upgraded shaft and coupler (preferably more than 2 set screws). The Shaft I screwed up was already the upgraded shaft from Kintec.

Can I use that coupler with my stock sv27 motor and upgrade flex shaft from Kintec?

Also, I recently tried removing my stock coupler, and it would not come off. I got the screw off and tried pulling but it would budge. How do I get it off?

I reccomend you get the shaft from OSE. I also got one if those shafts from Kintec....cause I bought the last one from here a while back and they were out for a while. The Kintec shaft does not have the indention....or pin that Steave's shaft does which makes the drive dog stay on more securely. And also....I don't think the Kintec shaft came with a drive dog....Steave's does. I run a SV 27 nitro....and Steave's shaft is still going strong in my boat! My stock shaft broke after the fifth run and that is when I bought my upgrade shaft from here. And....he has some in stock....hurry before they get sold out!

Too bad I didn't ask earlier, since I just got the upgrade shaft like 2 days ago. I ran it today and it went pretty well, although after I took my boat out from a flip I noticed the shaft had come out a little bit. Maybe this was due to the flip. And yes, it did come with a drive dog. Would it be worth buying that coupler for this shaft?

Yes...I would. Steave sells good stuff here. And I think that coupler would work just fine on your SV 27. I have the nitro so mine would be different but I am leaning toward buying a used SV 27 FE and that would be my FIRST upgrade and then the flexshaft. Also check your drive dog from time to time......you may be ok....

Alright, just ordered the coupler along with the 2056 steering servo. My stock one broke from water damage and I've been using some weird one that someone gave me. I think it's a micro one.

I tried getting the stock couple off earlier, and it wouldn't come off. Do I just unscrew the little screw and then pull? Maybe it's stuck on there from being on it so long.
