I just got my Kintec water jacket for my sv27 motor, and I am having trouble getting it on the motor. It seems like it just won't fit. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get it on?

Water jackets can be a challenge to put on some motors. You need to oil the 0-rings and it helps to oil the can too. Of course remove the label first. I assume you received the correct jacket...
This works for me. Screw the motor to a motor mount (not in the hull) and work the first o-ring on to the back of the motor. Twisting the jacket or motor while pushing helps. Once the first ring is on, re-oil the second ring and keep working the jacket onto the motor. It will go on, just be careful not to catch the ring on a sharp edge and cut it.
As soon as the second ring is on the motor case, position the water outlet where you want it when mounted in the boat. After the jacket has been on the motor for a few minutes it can be difficult to rotate.

I had to round or slightly sand the edge of the motor so it was not so sharp of an edge and then went on much better. Windex also works well as a lube...motor and o-rings...once on it evaporates and she sticks good.
Same for Sliding antenna wires into tubes...spray the windex on the wire and some down the tube and they slide right up there.Comment
