Radio box or not??

I see pictures of SV27's here and a lot of them have removed the radio boxes and just have things on the bottom of the boat. Why? Is it so things are easy access? Weight? Just wondering...

for me it was weight and easier access to the inside of the boat. but then again i always tape my hatches closed when i run my boats.

So when you tape the hatch, you turn the whole boat into a water proof radio box. Does the tape leave a film or cause a mess, or peal or stick?

Radio box is to bulky, cramped and it saves weight dump it you don't need it. Search tips on this forum to waterproof you rx for added protection. Always tape your hatch (Electrical tape or hockey tape works great). Platform with mount can be purchased at Kintec Racing, scroll down. Ul-1 motor & esc pictured.

First thing I did was to remove the radio box and replace it with a Kintec platform.

If thier not EXACTLY the same they are close and it will work.
