Help 2s 40c flight max batt.s

Hay bud,s need some help I have a SV27 eng and a new turnigy 120a marine speedcontrole ,Just got my flightmax 2s 40c 5000 in the mail and the wire s are bigger I,had to take off small conectors on the 120a and replace with bullet heads is this OK or NOT and will this be to much power.
