    Radio Box Mod

Everybody seems to remove there radio box to make more room & for easy access to the batteries , well here is an easy mod using the SV radio box , all i did was cut it down into a tray & left the servo mount intact ....& moved the ESC to in front of the motor... its a neat conversion i think...

I think thats a great idea. I would put a balloon on that receiver though. The tactic doesnt fare well with any water contact.

Cheers , not a big fan of balloons ,you have to change them all the time due to condensation build up, i cover my recivers in Vaseline its works really well , never had one fail since i have been doing it ....plus i use a really good hatch tape

That's funny, I just did the same thing Monday night. I was just going to post pics asking for advice but now I can use yours. I can't seem to fit the esc, Novac lipo cut-off, and airtronics micro reciever on there so it looks nice and the cooling tubes aren't kinked? I think in the near future I'm going to make a plexiglass plate with an aluminum servo mount from offshore but I'm going to a camp groung tomorrow for a family function and want to bring my boats and cars. The main problem with this set-up is the servo mount takes up to much room. If I had one of those small aluminum ones I could move it over and lay the esc flat. I can't do that now though?

scoota, Can I see some pics of how you mounted your esc? jlr3rd1, I tried putting mine next to the servo like yours but I'm just not happy with how it fits with all the cooling tubes and LV cutoff. It looks like you have a diff esc?

I glued a small piece plywood the size of the ESC across the bottom of the hull in front of the motor, with some velcro on it which i sit esc on top.....im running the UL1 esc & motor...

I like the spot up there for the esc.

My hull was always stuffed with foam noodle.
I never got the chance to picture my esc up there. LOL
                  Looks great!

I did the same thing with the radio box.

                  Old picture though.

                  Ended up turning into this.

Wow! That looks like a lot of weight with all those cells. Probably just what the sv need to keep it planted to the water though!

boat was designed to run on Nimh cells.
That set up went 57mph GPS confirmed.

Went to a smaller prop and got 4 more mph out of it.

That is insane speed for an sv! Same boat as you're avatar I'm assuming.

Has anyone ever had any issues with the stinger being mounted crooked due to the un-eveness of the transom? I had to shim mine to straighten it out.

yeah same boat in my avatar.
Sold it to a guy on RRR quite awhile back.

Never had the stinger problem, ive owned 7 different SV hulls.
