    ESC question

I have a stock sv27. Last year it worked fine.
This year the motor wont turn. I sync the radio as in the manual, I get two beeps instead of one then when squeeze throttle there is two beeps and when released I get 4 instead of 5. Last summer I got one, one, five. after several attempts at syncing, I get a low pitched tone thet has long beeps and goes untill I un plug the batteries. The motor never turns. The motor is still hard to rotate so I don't think it's demagnitized. I put new batteries in the transmitter, no change.
I checked for carrosion, none. It never got wet. only ran it 6 batterie sets over three different days. I swapped the motor wires around no change.

    Any Ideas??

Make sure the throttle trim is properly set and make sure the esc is properly plugged into the reciever and not upside down which it is possible to do.

I tried it again. nope, not working. how can I tell if the motor works? Can I use an ohm meter to test the circuits??
Tonight when I tried it, one beep, one beep, four beeps. I thought yea, it's going to work... but no. After sitting 20 seconds it beeped once again, I pulled the trigger one beep, released, four beeps... nothing.
        The steering works fine.
ESC is channel 2 servo ch. 1.

Can I test the motor? Do I need to find "known good parts" and swap with another boat??
Let me know what you think.
        thanks.

This ESC might have a brake function that somehow may have been activated. Try this:

          1. Pull the trigger all the way back, hold it there and then turn the transmitter on.
          2. While still holding the trigger at the full throttle position, plug the battery into the ESC. The motor should beep once or twice.
          3. Release the trigger. The motor should beep once or twice again.
          4. Pull the trigger all the way back again. You should hear one beep.
          5. Release the trigger, you should hear four beeps and the ESC should be armed.

(If you hear two beeps in steps 2 and 3 I believe that indicates the brake is being turned "on." One beep would mean the brake is being turned "off.")

You only need to do this once. The setting will remain even if you turn the power off.

I don't know if this will fix your problem, but it's worth a try.

          John

Are we talking about a stock SV esc or some other one? Stock AM Aquacraft radio or an other one?

100% stock. plastic prop and all. Stock Aquacraft AM radio.

I tried the hold the trigger trick... it made it beep twice, twice, four times. But didn't make the motor turn. I did it again, it beeped once, once, four times.

I have someone I work with bringing another motor to work tomarow to try and see if it works, Might be able to talk hin into bringing a car to plug into my motor to test it. I will post whatever the results are.
              Thanks.

Might want to check the connections from your motor to the esc may need a bit more solder.

Well, I tested the Motor and ESC with a DVOM... the motor has continuity through the windings, should work. The ESC does not put out any voltage except when it beeps durring programing... There is 16 volts going into the ESC from 2 3000 mah nimh batts. Going to buy a new ESC.
I know there are 25 or 30 to chose... any I should not buy??

I really like The UL-1 ESC i got for my Vac-U-Pickle very smooth and reliable and waterproof.
You will have to put 4mm ends on your motor to make it work. It programs just like the SV esc.
