    stern drive

I was looking to upgrade my boat when i saw the z drives (stern drives) from graupner (http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...?prod=grp-1987) and mhz (http://www.mhzusa.com/Z-Drive-Version-III-m-1729-N.htm)

does anybody know if these things could handle the stock sv27 brushless motor or if these are even the right size for the sv27?

The MHZ Z drive is way too big for a small mono like the SV27. Its designed for hulls over 40". You couldnt break it with an SV27 power system if you tried. The Graupner might be adapted but not sure why you would attempt such an endevour. You would not gain any performance over a stinger, but it would look different for sure. Is there some reason you want an outdrive over a straight drive system?

The Graupner discontinued model OSE used to carry might have been your best choice for that scale look. http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...?prod=grp-1985 but I honestly believe you would have had a much slower hull then using the stock stinger. However you could install one of the transom mounted outboards for that scale look and achieve what you seek.

If you could find one it should work that used a 600 speed motor that was very powerfull for a brushed setup.
