    prop wash water p.u.

Is anyone running a prop wash water pickup? Do you have any photos.
Is the cooling effect better than a transom mount?
I saw the phto of the catamaran w/ the prop wash under 'tips & info', but just wondering if anyone could chime in w/their experience.

    Thanks,

I tried them decades ago. The water from a prop wash pickup will be more aerated than from a rudder pickup so the cooling line has lots of air entrained - which reduces the cooling efficiency. It also causes more drag than a rudder setup.

Some folks like them and they can be cheaper than buying a special rudder, but for most applications the standard rudder pickup is just fine.

Just use the transom mounted one or the one from Kintec they work the best.
