The SV is a great boat and it can do the speeds fairly easily. I'm currently on my 3rd SV and its got a UL-1 motor spinning a 45 mm prop. Its been GPS'd at 44 mph but only in the best conditions (it doesn't have the nickname "superflip" for no reason). To run in the mid 40's consistently in normal everyday conditions (some chop) you might want to look into a Delta Force 29 Knock Off (E-Bay). They are great hulls for around 60 bucks if I remember when I got mine last year. They have a deeper V and are wider so much more stable. Put a SV motor in there and you will get what you want in a controlable hull at those speeds.

Don't get me wrong, I love my SV, even in the rougher conditions as its a learned skill to keep it upright. It still gets the most use out of all my boats! Thats part of its appeal.

I run mid 40s fine in my SV, I just don't take it out if it's too choppy. Water doesn't have to be glass smooth a little ripple is perfect. I keep a slight negative trim on my trim tabs as well. If you want to build your own hull build a Delta Force or even a DF copy they both handle better than a SV. I run a grim 42x55 prop and with a slight ripple and eveything neutral I hit 47mph, but with trim tabs negative I run 43-44mph all day and pretty well. Check the vid in my signature, I really like the grim prop I mentioned on the SV, works wonders.

The only drawback to this charger there is no internal cooling fan, I just use a small 6" fan and it stay's cool to the touch, both the charger and the batteries.
