Flex shaft/Stuffing tube: how much grease, how tight of a fit?

As some may have realized I am new to the RC boat world... my two questions are simple:

    1. How much grease should one apply to the flex shaft?

    2. How far should one push the flex shaft into the stuffing tube?

    - I remember reading somewhere that one should leave a slight gap b/w the drive dog/stuffing tube (because the flex shaft will tighten up under torque), however I can't find the post.

    Lastly...

    3. I'm trying to figure out if my flex shaft is long enough to flip my (stock) motor mount... pending the results of Q2, how much of the flex shaft needs to enter the coupler? I'd suppose just enough to keep it tight?

    1. enough to make sure the surface is well coated but not globed on.

    2. The distance should be equal to the diameter of the cable.

    3. I like to have about a 1/2" in the coupler.

Great thanks... I don't think I'll be able to flip my motor mount until I purchase a new flex shaft (maybe next month). As I don't think I'll get but about 1/4 into the coupler if I do.
