Hey all, my name is Mitch and I just purchased my first rc boat (supervee 27 electric w/ deans). I've been doing research on many forums/sites for about a month now and I plan to just start out with lipos. The sv hasn't arrived in the mail yet, and I haven't purchased the batteries but I have a few questions.
- I plan to run the stock motor/esc so I'll need to purchase a LVC.
- My choice of power is going to be:
(2) Flightmax 2s1p 5800 mAH wired in series = 4s1p, 14.8v, 5800 mAH (@ 100a)
Now some questions... (keep in mind my sv has deans and stock parts):
The Flightmaxx 2s1p's have 3 pin balance plugs and bullet connectors (these are not used during a run correct? i.e. only during charging), what all connectors do I need to run w/ the LVC and in series?
So if I...
- Purchase the LVC w/o dean connectors:
Do I simply...
1. cut off each dean connector on my boat and
2. solder two positive wires together & positive from LVC
3. solder two negatives together & negative from LVC
4. solder the 3 negative sides to the - post
5. solder the 3 positive sides to the + post
This means I would need 3 dean connectors?
- One MALE for the 6 wires from the ESC/LVC
- (2) FEMALES one for each battery
- and the series adapter pictured blow?
Last question:
- After we have decided which connectors are all necessary and exactly how to wire it.... Should I just change the plugs on the boat to bullet? instead of soldering on dean plugs for everything?
- I think the batteries come w/ bullet connectors
---Thus all I need is 4 bullet connectors & some extra wire to make a series adapter?
Thanks!
